Introducing Frontline

About Brandstorm & Frontline
Brandstorm is a case competition run by SFU's Student Marketing Association. This year's client company was Frontline Real Estate Services, an up and coming organization dedicated towards commercial real estate. Being relatively new, they wanted to find a way to attract young and creative talent to their organization.
Design Challenge
How might we encourage young, new, and creative real estate talent to join Frontline over other more established companies in the field?
Research & Analysis
What Frontline Got Wrong

A comparison between Frontline and key competitor Colliers. As well as an analysis of common pitfalls between the two.
Solution Part 1
Technology Focused Marketing Campaign
Using QR Codes
To target young and forward-thinking workers, we developed an interactive marketing campaign. Users would come across posters in popular student locations in a new and fun style that would prompt them to scan the QR code.

The posters created for the marketing campaign.
Enticing Through an AR Experience
After they scan the posters, they would be greeted with an AR pop up of a development Frontline was currently working on. This allows them to concretely visualize the impact they could have by working with Frontline.

Solution Part 2
Simplifying the Application Experience
Website ReDesign
We focused on creating a more rounded and friendly identity for the company to position them at the centre of innovation.

Job Portal Redesign
On the new hiring page we centred on transparently outlining the recruiting process to build a sense of trust with prospective workers. As well, jobs are now built into the site so users aren’t being redirected through multiple channels.

Reflection
What Did I Learn?
Understand Your Team's Strenghts
When it came to a short case competition style project like this, it was important for us to delegate tasks between ourselves in a way that played to all our strengths. For example, I worked on a lot of the UX and graphic design, while Victor handled the financials and logistics of the project.
Be Creative
A lot of the time it’s easy to limit yourself to made up constraints of what you think is realistic, but creating a project that not only meets the business needs but does so in a creative way makes you stand out from the competition.
